Most of Former Vice President Jejomar Binay’s cases are political in nature if not all. This is probably the reason why his former Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado sometimes wakes up crying during the Blue Ribbon Committee hearings. Binay declares that he has found wisdom from the Bible and learned to forgive.

Binay admits that after losing from the presidency, he took the time off in knowing the creator more from the Bible. He also went with his family to a pilgrimage in Israel. He has learned to forgive and made an effort to call Mercado first. They met in a restaurant and hugged like old friends do.
No more Politics
Both swear not to get involved in politics anymore. Mercado even promised that no other family members would pursue that field. Binay, however, still has a mayor and a senator in the family. He also supports the electoral protest of Bongbong Marcos against Leni Robredo. But personally, he would rather continue his Bible studies now that he has found peace.
Binay still has pending cases for the Makati Building 2 anomaly. His wife also faces some charges in the Makati Hospital furniture accusation. It can be possible that Mercado will be called to shed light to such allegations. With the rate it is going, it looks like the ex-Makati Vice Mayor is already happy with the renewed friendship. He would not want to ruin it again especially now that there’s no more reason to discredit Binay.
Can the People Forgive?
Some Binay supporters are aghast with the new development between the two ex-politicians. It hurts them to think that they are robbed by the possibility to have a compassionate and effective President. All it takes to heal is a “sorry.” In time, they can forgive Mercado as well.
