The martial law testimonies just depend on who’s talking and who has the greater number. The Bantayog ng mga Bayani gives honor to the 19 figures called “the real heroes” who fought against the martial law during the late Ferdinand E. Marcos’ regime. Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, on the other hand, attested that it was necessary for Marcos to declare it because the country was in chaos. In fact, he is certain that Marcos is rightful in all aspects of it because he himself studied its details and the former president just complied with his recommendations.

19 Awardees
There were 19 patriots added to the wall of remembrance at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani. They are honored by the Bantayog nga mga Bayani Foundation. Liberal supporters refer to them as the “real heroes” for their alleged valiant fight against the late President Ferdinand Marcos’s administration in their respective fields. Many are politicians, journalists, and student activists.
Vice President Leni Robredo’s Participation
Vice President Leni Robredo joins former senator Wigberto Tanada in the flower offering for their acclaimed ‘heroes’ at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani’s wall of remembrance. Knowing that she is the highest elected officer of the Liberal Party, it can be speculated that she might be a great force in initiating it.
Abuses during Martial Law really Happened but why Blame Marcos?
Marcos’ Burial Used Over and Over Again
The fact must not be forgotten by the millennials that two terms of the Aquino administration provided free lawyers to the alleged human rights victims but no substantial number of cases resulted from that. It is easy to conclude that isolated cases are being escalated to make a bigger impact on the alleged martial law abuses. Another thing, the Marcos burial follows all the laws and it cannot be disputed by such different opinions only.

It’s been 30 years, no case have been proven to directly link President Ferdinand Marcos on the killings and tortures during the Martial Law Era. It’s all accusations and people are getting tired of hearing the same rant over and over again. If people are arrested and jailed during that time, that is because they destabilize the peace and order the Government is trying to maintain. The country is under Martial Law because of destabilization attempts, it is therefore should be expected that anyone who tries to destabilize the peace and order in our country would meet the full extent of the Law of the Land mandated by the Constitution approved and imposed by the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Supreme Court making the said actions legal and justified.
