welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea earlier told the media that among the agenda that included during the initial cabinet meeting few hours after the inauguration were organizational matters, as well as typhoon and emergency preparedness, 24-hour complaint office, 8888 emergency contact and decongesting NAIA – then the effects of online gambling were also discussed.

Known for his tough campaigns on illegal drugs and criminal syndicates, the President now added another item to his hit list: which is online gambling. He directed Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation or PAGCOR chief Andrea Domingo to cancel “sometime soon” the licenses given to online casinos which have sprouted across the country. Duterte cited the adverse effects of gambling to a person and the difficulty of collecting taxes online.

Duterte also detests fixers who positioned themselves outside of government agencies like the LTO and LRA – by giving an order to shorten processing time for the convenience of the people.
