Political analyst Ramon Casiple was right. He said that Bongbong Marcos’ electoral protest against Leni Robredo will reach the 2019 elections. It is not about the substance of the complaint since it is evident that there was cheating especially now that the impeachment of the COMELEC Chair is more likely.

[VIDEO]: Political analyst Ramon Casiple shares his thoughts on the electoral protest of Bongbong Marcos against Vice President Leni Robredo.
Not Helping Yet
Marcos is successful in his bid to have 3 commissioners to supervise the electoral protest proceedings. However, Robredo’s Camp manages to halt it on the first part of his three courses of actions. CJ Sereno’s possible impeachment also slows down the process. In fact, the recount is already overshadowed by Bautista’s scandal and Kian’s death.
Identification of Witnesses
As discussed in the preliminary conference, both camps agreed to limit witnesses to 3 for each of the 2,756 clustered precincts in Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Basilan. They are told to identify them in their comments. Robredo’s lawyer, Romulo Macalintal points out that in Marcos’ response, he failed to identify such witnesses. He just made the same reservation as such.
Banking on Protest Inconsistencies
Robredo’s lawyers are very vigilant in every detail that can possibly delay the recount. This is already taken since various Representatives of the House endorsed Chairman Andres Bautista’s impeachment complaint. That alone already clouds the integrity of the 2016 automated elections.
Election 2019 Decision
Protestant Marcos may not admit that he has to already decide this early on what to do during the Senatorial election in 2019. He may continue the protest and let his sister, Gov. Imee Marcos to run as Senator than seek another term. He can also do otherwise and face the consequence to moot his case against Robredo. Besides, there’s the election 2022 as well where he could run as President which he can be a popular bet if he wins the electoral protest. Whatever he does, he has to decide soon.
