President Du30 enjoys the support of people who want change. They are fed-up of pretentious and corrupt politicians. This frustration attracts the massive constituency of Bongbong Marcos. They settle for a Du30-Marcos split ticket like the Iglesia ni Kristo’s solid block. Driven by the Marcos loyalists, this crucial niche is enough to give the President a huge margin that no digital fraud can override. Unfortunately, Marcos does not have enough percentage among the Du30 supporters because of the official Du30 – Cayetano tandem. That made him prone to the computerized manipulation, thus triggers the electoral protest against VP Leni Robredo.

Rappler CEO Has No Clue How Facebook Works
Maria Ressa, Rappler’s CEO should know that Facebook is just communications technology like any other social media platforms. It is freely and equally accessible to everyone. It is used by both national and local candidates during the election 2016. Liberal Party who was in power by then has the most advanced social media machinery compared to President Du30. Blaming FB for her company’s downfall shows that she does not know how it works.
All Election 2016 Candidates Used Social Media
Any candidate cannot control voters just by using social media. Defeated candidates can attest to that. It is illogical to conclude that Facebook was responsible for Du30’s victory. He must have a multitude of supporters to put his messages across the country to gain such unbeatable margin.
Death of Liberalism
Mar Roxas failed despite his well-financed social media team that operates even before the campaign. His political platforms did not capture the voters. His political party just disgusts the majority of the public. Ex-President Noynoy Aquino’s swearing to block Bongbong Marcos that was echoed by Robredo made Marcos looks like the hero among the many yellow villains.
No, Maria, manipulated social media did not make Duterte win
