Senator Imee Marcos with officials of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao during the public hearing by the Senate Committee on Local Governments last Tuesday, March 10.
Meeting the BARMM Delegates
Senator Marcos made it a point to welcome the BARMM delegates at the Senate despite not having any session because of her plan to return to Mindanao soon. She features coronavirus-fearless government officials starting from the BARMM speaker to their leaders. Marcos hails their strength in not fearing the existence of the COVID-19. Instead, it seems that the coronavirus is afraid of them.
The Tausugs are Stronger than the Coronavirus
The Tausug tribe lifestyle is very masculine. Many of them are in the industries of carvings, metalworks, woodworks, tapestry, and embroidery. Mat making, basketry, textile, fashion, pottery, and other minor arts are common scenes in the area. Some are the Tausug mananasal or blacksmiths. They produce bolo, kalis, and barong (bladed weapons). They invent their own materials for their job. These manual labors and art traditions made them healthier than other Filipinos physically and mentally.
