Live: Imee Marcos Presents Ilocos Norte’s Vocational Scholars for 2017

Amidst the drug war, the people need jobs. Governor Imee Marcos of Ilocos Norte made sure that the millennials in the family are equipped enough to earn the decent amount of money by giving them much-needed skills. The presentation of 2017 Vocational scholars is live today via Facebook, April 3, 2017.

Iskolar ni Manang Imee

“Iskolar ni Manang Imee” beneficiaries enrolled in technical-vocational programs in Ilocos Norte also receive their stipends. The “Iskolar ni Manang Imee” program in Ilocos Norte was launched in 2012 but it only started to include the technical-vocational scholars in the first semester of the academic year 2015-2016. Computer skills are enhanced in the 2017 batch.

Schools under PED Funding

The stipend is funded by the Provincial Education Department (PED) of the province to support the students enrolled in technical-vocational programs in the following schools: Bangui Institute of Technology, Marcos Agro-Industrial School (MAIS), Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades (INCAT), Mariano Marcos State University-College of Industrial Technology (MMSU-CIT), and the Overseas Technical Institute, Inc.

Grant Received

Each grantee of the Sirib academic scholarship program receives a total of P15, 650 per semester to include tuition fee, book allowance and board and lodging while, a Sirib community leaders’ scholarship grantee is getting Php7, 000.00 stipends per semester.

Purpose of Gov. Imee Marcos

The recipients of the technical-vocational “Iskolar ni Manang Imee” scholarship slots are mostly out-of-school. The program is developed to maximize the productivity of residents throughout Ilocos Norte by aiding them in finding a sustainable livelihood program.
