PH Supreme Court unanimously dismisses Bongbong Marcos’ poll protest vs VP Robredo
The PET Rules on the Electoral Protest of Bongbong Marcos
The Supreme Court that sits as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) unanimously votes to dismiss the election protest, Bongbong Marcos. This is a protest against Vice President Leni Robredo. Associate Justice Marvic Leonen earlier hints of the outcome. So, this is not a surprise anymore to the Marcos loyalists. It is just a relief for Marcos that his case cannot be moot and academic come October when he files his candidacy for the 2022 elections. It is not clear, however, if the 3rd cause of action remains.
Outpouring Public Sympathy
Rallies may happen here and there but never a massive one because the Marcos camp already said that whatever the result may be, they have to accept it. They only want the final ruling to put an end to the case. This makes his supporters vow to put their vengeance in the upcoming presidential elections.
Supreme Court Spokesperson Atty. Brian Keith Hosaka announces that out of the 15 justices seven members fully concurred in the dismissal while eight justices concurred in the results. As early as now, the presence of the pro-Bongbong Marcos groups on social media is now felt but mostly quiet. But there’s only one goal in mind. To finally support the comeback of a Marcos in the executive office.
