PDu30’s Bongbong Marcos PM Pick and Marcos-like Political Will Give Hope to Many Filipinos

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

South China Morning Post correspondent and “Marcos Martial Law: Never Again” author Raissa Robles speaks at a forum at the University of the Philippines School of Economics. She said that the son of the late president Ferdinand Marcos is likely choice of President Du30 for Prime Minister once the constitution is changed to Federalism.  The president, she said is a Marcos loyalist and admirer of the strongman. She really tries to make it look bad – but her comparing PDu30 and Macoy is actually what made the president popular. His merging with Bongbong Marcos is actually the hope for many Filipinos for the nation’s progress.

[VIDEO]: At the forum on EDSA People Power’s relevance, investigative journalist Raissa Robles says the President “cherrypicks from history to pursue his political agenda.”

Constitutional Authoritarian Rule?

The Marcos patriarch drafts the proposed charter changes referred to as constitutional authoritarian rule when there is no functioning legislature. IIt happens during Martial Law when presidential decrees are deemed at par with legislative enactments. Those decrees still exist at the moment. No president after Marcos ever changes those. Robles highlights that what makes Marcos a dictator is the fact that he operates without check and balance. He criticizes Du30’s quest to bring back various aspects of the Marcos rule. That is allegedly in the parliamentary-federal model that Congress leaders present recently.

Ramos, Hero of EDSA?

Robles, calls FVR. the former Deputy Chief of Staff under the martial law a hero. It is definitely a misinformation drive. He is responsible for the Philippine Constabulary accused of various human rights abuses. If there is a hero in the military during the EDSA mutiny referred by biased journalists as a revolution, it is Senator Gregorio Honasan. Senator Juan Ponce Enrile who is the key player for calling Marcos to step down and initiates the military operation with Honasan’s armed men said that Ramos only joins later on. Ramos also backs the installation of unlikely leaders particularly Cory Aquino against their will.

Human Wrongs and Federal Democracy

The veteran journalist narrates accounts of tortures from well-known sources that are politically against Marcos. She can dig deeper again and get information from normal NPAs at that time. It is a big question why despite the around 7000 insurgents, there are more than 100,000 martial law compensation claimants? There seem to be plenty of human wrongs here. .However, the president campaigns for federal democracy which is a political system in which citizens have equal participation in government. The government is divided into two sovereign levels, such as a national government and state governments. The President is directly elected by the people for a five-year term and can run fo another five-year term. The Prime Minister who is a member of Parliament who serves as head of government. The members of Parliament elects him to run the day-to-day operations of government. Why is Robles afraid of Bongbong Marcos?

Prime Minister Bongbong Marcos

Robles cannot bear to imitate Marcos during the vice presidential debate when he discloses Du30’s promise that if the problem of crime is not solved in three to six months, he will give the presidency to Bongbong Marcos. Not his running mate, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano. Marcos’ electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo is still ongoing. At the sound of Robles’ slide presentation, her attacks against the president are actually directed to prevent Bongbong Marcos from the executive office. Very Liberal Party-like indeed.
