Honorable Fredenil “Fred” Castro, Majority Leader (Interim) District Representative Capiz, 2nd District in the Congress said that the election if a new Majority leader in a quorum automatically made the position of Rep. Rodolfo Fariñas vacant. The manifestation becomes evident after he questioned Resolution 2025 that validates CGMA’s election as House Speaker. Arroyo actually has no problem with Fariñas being retained as the Majority Floor Leader but another influential group blocks his reappointment led allegedly by Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos.

PDP Laban Membership is Based on Convenience
Castro is not at all bothered by the chaos in the Congress. He said that the House of Representatives remains interesting like before. No one can stop anyone from questioning anything. However, the diminishing PDP-Laban members in power can send members of their group who just joined for convenience to go back to their old political parties. These are the politicians who oppose the government’s directions despite their alliance with the President’s party.
Erasing from the Political Landscape
Castro hints that the PDP-Laban may be erased from the political landscape when after a massive exodus. However, the ones who are truly-inclined with the party’s objectives will remain. They can also start recruiting for new allies to help out in their specific quests.
The Marcos-Fariñas Conflict
Gov. Marcos and Fariñas have a bitter-sweet history of both political alliances and feuds. The latest was in 2017. It was when the former conducted a House a probe into the alleged misuse of P66.45 million worth of provincial tobacco funds to purchase vehicles earlier approved by the Ilocos Norte Governor.
COA Inquiry on the Congress Issue by Fariñas
The COA said that the local government did not conduct the physical count of inventories held for consumption. These include office, food, medical, and agricultural supplies. The inventories that total to over ₱125 million were not checked for completeness and condition. Thus resulting in the possible loss of government funds due to overstocking and deterioration.
In response, the Ilocos Norte government said it will establish an Inventory Committee to conduct a physical count every six months. It added there was no overstocking of inventories. The supplies were not obsolete. The officer-in-charge of the Government Services Offices confirms that he is now waiting for the issuance of the official receipt and certificate of registration for the vehicles questioned by Farinas. The vehicles will then be insured to the Government Service Insurance System. The local government also clarifies that the fuel was purchased from Total in a special and exclusive offer that reduced costs. Any discrepancy found is certainly not a corruption issue but just a mere logistical process realignment for a sustainable spending. It has now become obvious that it is not advisable to be negative about the Marcoses under the Du30 regime. The lady governor surely found favor in the President’s eyes.
Lawyer Larry Gadon who filed an impeachment complaint against Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno admits that he ran for Senator under the banner of Lakas and the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) in 2016. The party is affiliated with the Marcoses. But he firmly denied; “No, Bongbong Marcos has nothing to do with this complaint. In fact, he was surprised that I am the one who filed it.”

No Presidential Influence
He also denied that President Du30 is behind the complaint. “I only met the President 5 times and we never talked. Just a shake hand and ‘hi, sir’ and thank you. That’s all. He has nothing to do with this.”
Gadon also denied that former President and now Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is behind the complaint. This speculation mushrooms after her previous appointee, the late Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona, was impeached and removed from the High Court. Gadon is a member of Arroyo’s legal team.
Vengeance is Not for Arroyo
Gadon previously tried to convince Mrs. Arroyo to file a complaint against Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales. This was for malicious persecution but Mrs. Arroyo rejected the idea. He was even scolded when he told reporters that she was contemplating on filing a case. He said this time that Mrs. Arroyo did not endorse the impeachment complaint against Sereno. “I did not ask her,” he said.
Sufficient in Form and Substance
The House of Representatives justice committee recently announces that Gadon’s complaint is sufficient in form and substance. Among the Supreme Court documents, Gadon used were official lists of Sereno’s travel expenses and appointment letters. He also cited the Supreme Court’s purchase of a P5.1 million luxury vehicle for the CJ. Sereno’s discrepancies on her statement of assets liabilities and net worth (SALN) and her attorney’s fees in the Piatco Case were also raised. Sereno decided to keep quiet about it and refrained from making comments.
The truth on the President’s drug war comes out from the mouth of his allies. Bongbong Marcos and former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo are pro-administration politicians. Despite the claims of his detractors, statistics don’t lie. Crimes are down by 10 percent and that’s the fact. Now, people realize who the real liars are.

Awesome leadership and results are the markings of the first year of President Du30, said the former President Arroyo. Sound decisions come from intelligence findings for every critical situation available to the leader only. He is able to focus on the reality of the problem than to the pieces of advice given that are not factual.
Foreign Affairs Alignment
Bongbong Marcos also gives credit to the President who is able to realign foreign affairs policies. He manages to resume the good relationship with China like how it was during the Marcos regime. On top of that, he also opens the doors to Russia while he keeps the United States on the side. Criticisms loom on his strategy but it is effective. Only a good leader can do that, Marcos said.
Real Drug War Data
Illegal drugs are still around. But Du30 is able to bring down the number of crimes by 10 percent. This is in the first 11 months of his administration. The data from the Philippine National Police shows that during the last quarter of 2016, the administration obtains a new quarterly record low in crime since 1989.
Rene Saguisag said that Du30 must respect human rights and dignity. Senator Leila de Lima echoes this. She accuses the president of false new against her. The Social Weather Stations survey on crime victims in January 2017 shows that 4.9 percent of families recently fall victims to any crime. The decrease in crimes comes at a price – the many deaths of alleged criminals.
Former President and now Pampanga Representative. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo refused to give advice to the President on how to handle the maritime dispute over the South China Sea. She has no doubt that he knows what he’s doing.

[VIDEO]: Arroyo said that he cannot give any recommendations for the West Philippine Sea dispute because she does not have all the facts like the President does.
Won’t Dare Give Recommendations
Arroyo frankly said she would not dare make any recommendation to the president because she does not have access to all information that he has in his hands. “I can only share what happened in my administration. I do not know all the facts that are available to the current administration, so I do not dare to make any recommendations and I keep that attitude because of my own experience as President,” Arroyo elaborated.
Charge it to Experience
During Arroyo’s several people gave her recommendations on how to handle the South China Sea dispute. Since they did not have all the facts, this can create more misunderstandings. “As far as I’m concerned, the President knows what he is doing. I do not have any specific recommendations to make,” she added.
No South China Sea Conflict During her Time
It was under her presidency when Republic Act No. 9522 was enacted. It is the Amended Definitions of the Archipelagic Baseline of the Philippines. The declaration of the Philippine ‘sovereignty and jurisdiction’ over Scarborough Shoal is stated there. The shoal is a traditional fishing grounds for Filipinos near Masinloc, Zambales. The tension arises between the Philippines and the Chinese in 2012 when the Aquino administration brought the case into the Hague.
Crucial Economic Ties
Filipino fishermen are only able to fish there again after the current president resumes the Philippine-Chinese ties when he assumed power. Arroyo, however, thinks that the National Security Council should focus on economic ties with China. Du30 just ordered troops to occupy uninhabited islets and shoals which are Philippine territories in the Spratly Islands. They were driven away by the Chinese coast guard but Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said that it was just a matter of protocol. The answer should only be, “we are entering the Philippine territory.”
At Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s birthday celebration in Pampanga, Bongbong Marcos apologized to well-wishers for their unaccounted votes in the elections 2016. He swears that he will not stop pursuing his electoral protest against Leni Robredo until each vote is accounted for.

[VIDEO]: Former president and now Pampanga 2nd District Representative Gloria Arroyo celebrated her 70th birthday with several political VIPs. Among them, former Senator Bongbong Marcos.
Marcos attended Arroyo’s birthday party twice. In Pampanga early on and at her residence in Quezon City later that day. Du30, however, was not able to make it in the Pampanga event but managed to be at the Quezon City bash together with his family.
Quezon City Celebration with the President and Marcos
Arroyo’s evening party was held at her residence in La Vista Subdivision, Quezon City. The President showed up with his common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña and their 12-year-old daughter Veronica. This looks like a more intimate get-together of allies.
Arroyo’s Birthday Wish
As a leader, former president Arroyo wishes for the success of the president because this would mean success for the country as well. She is in politics so nothing can disturb her celebration despite controversies around her political guests like Du30 himself, Marcos, and Senator Richard Gordon.
Supporters of Bongbong Marcos are hopeful that the events during Arroyo’s birthday signify that the president is still the strongest supporter of Marcos. After a long silence, loyalists are about to take assembly at the Supreme Court vicinity for their call to expedite recount. Marcos’ recent Pampanga speech seems to jive with the upcoming movement.

The recent NSC Meeting suddenly became the gathering for former Philippine Presidents at Malacañang as convened by President Rodrigo Duterte. This first ever happening was not seen coming as all parties are throwing mud at each other during the campaign period – but most politicians knew that those so-called media wars were only temporary and they need to be civil if not unite for the sake of the country.
It was remembered that Estrada was not so happy with his then Vice President Arroyo who replaced him after being convicted of plunder despite her giving him pardon. Whereas Aquino was in the spotlight because everybody knew that he imprisoned Arroyo just to shut her up during his administration. Despite all those frictions, the meeting went well and may all grudges involving these personalities will be behind us.
Ex-Presidents Benigno S. Aquino III, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who is now Pampanga congresswoman, Joseph Ejercito Estrada who is now mayor of Manila, and Fidel V. Ramos who has been appointed as the country’s special envoy to China, were all present at the Aguinaldo State Dining Room in Malacañang Palace where the NSC meeting was held. Except for Aquino, Arroyo, Estrada and Ramos were also present during the new President’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) recently at the Batasan Complex in Quezon City.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales cannot accept defeat and cannot hide her grinning over former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s hospital arrest release recently that she vowed to put her back again in jail – showing her evil side. Arroyo’s lawyer Estelito Mendoza described the Ombudsman’s action as “shocking”.
The Supreme Court acquitted Arroyo from a plunder case over the alleged misuse of P366 million in Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) funds covering the years 2008 to 2010 – after four long years if being detained over lack of evidence which is surely the result of slow justice by the past administration. Now the ombudsman is already on its preliminary stage for another pending complaint in connection with PCSO intelligence funds covering the earlier period of 2004 to 2007 that Arroyo’s counsel, Laurence Arroyo confirmed that they already filed their counter-affidavit to the complaint.
Meanwhile when Arroyo did not even think of counter filing to charge the Ombudsman in their initial wrong judgement while she is busy coping up with her family and personal life in the free world, Morales is preoccupied in charging Arroyo with plunder again which is a non-bailable offense. This is despite of International human rights lawyer Amal Clooney’s testmony that the past government has committed human rights violations against political prisoners especially Congresswoman Arroyo.

The Supreme Court has now officially dismissed former President President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and ordered her release at the soonest possible time. This is after four years of long and delayed trials that President Rodrigo Duterte called slow justice. If Congresswoman Arroyo was indeed guilty, why can’t the previous administration push the process into giving her verdict? Is there truth that Pnoy just wanted her silenced?
SC Spokesman Theodore Te announced in the recent press conference that the Court dropped the criminal case because the evidences are insufficient that we already know – but only issued the immediate release after the government has changed to the new administration.
It was vote 11-4 in favor of Arroyo’s release after she filed her petition to junk a Sandiganbayan ruling – that instilled her plunder trial despite the lack of evidence in relations to the charges that she misused Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office or PCSO funds owned by the government.
