Bongbong Marcos discloses earlier that there are strong groups that are working to destabilize the Du30 administration. A study on remittance locally shows that there were suspicious funding movements. Remittances to central bank-registered remittance centers in Northern Mindanao spike by 200 to 400 percent early February 2017. This is three months before the Marawi attack. Marcos also speculates that surveys in the same period tend to influence the mindset of people.

Much Needed Funding
Local remittances are crucial to funding the five-month siege led by the Maute and Abu Sayyaf groups. The IS terrorists in Marawi cannot sustain their deadly attacks without the daily payments. Private remittance centers flourish extremely at a high rate in 2017. This happens even in second-class municipalities like Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, which, for the longest time, only have two rural banks.
Constant International Remittance
Remittances from overseas workers remained constant. They account for just 25 percent of the total in the past three years. Since February 2017, there were no new local industries within Mindanao that logically explain the 200- to the 400-percent increase in the volume and value of daily local remittances within the region.
Military sources cite the presence of cash couriers inside the Marawi main battle area during the siege. Some dead terrorists were found to possess cash ranging from P30,000 to P300,000. The Al Qaeda is known to utilize the informal hawala or padala system to fund terrorist attacks all over the world. Local residents have confirmed receiving money through hawala. It is an unregistered remittance scheme.
VP Leni Robredo shows her indifference with social media sentiments when she said that wrong information comes out from there regarding the Marawi incident. Many would disagree with her, because, the very first posts visible there are video footages of the actual events.

Terrorism in Marawi
Leni Robredo echoes the call for authorities to conduct an investigation into the incident. She also repeats the pleas of the police for Marawi residents not to loiter or go out of their house. They are more vulnerable if they stay in groups, she said.
Houses set on fire. Terrorists take over one city jail. They bombed the National Grid Corporation Tower in Lanao del Sur. Journalists are also attacked by armed men. This is terrorism aside from rebellion which is enough reason for the president to declare martial law. The VP is, however, hesitant to agree or disagree with the leader’s decision.
Social Media Critic
Robredo is very critical of social media. This is after she fails to make it work for her. There are just too many people who hate her. They all resort to social media because they cannot rely anymore on the mainstream media. It’s like taking the matter into their own hands that she detests.
It is not certain what Robredo is referring to when she said that misinformation scatters through social media anew. Was it about Bam Aquino’s alleged visit in Marawi shortly before the incident? Can it be about the martial law declaration? Since she clarifies that there’s no official notice yet and even the PNP is still waiting for it.
The President of the Philippines has declared the Marcos-style martial law in Mindanao. This is despite his trip to Russia. He returned immediately to deal with the problem with the Maute insurgencies in Marawi. The place is filled with terror with rebels burning houses and taking over the city jail to free prisoners.

[VIDEO]: President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday night declared Martial Law in Mindanao amid the ongoing clashes between government troops and Maute group terrorists in Marawi City, presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said.
President Du30 always remind people that he won’t hesitate to declare martial law when there’s a reason for it. It is noted that the rebels in Mindanao were in contact with the administration’s detractors, the Liberal party ever since the time of the late Ninoy Aquino. His decision is not a surprise to Filipinos.
Coincidentally, Bam Aquino is rumoured to have visited Marawi just before the attacks. Many people speculated that he is carrying out what the older Aquino did during the Marcos regime. It is assumed to be one of their destabilisation tactics.
Martial law is as it is. It is not different from the late president Ferdinand E. Marcos actions. He deals with it with toughness. Punish the lawless to protect the land. The police, however, promises not to do any abuses. This remains to be seen.
The tough leader assures his citizens that there’s nothing to worry about. His action is lawful. It intends to preserve the nation and the people. Only the detractors can say otherwise.
