The People Power Revolution, also known as the EDSA Revolution or the February Revolution, was a series of popular demonstrations in the Philippines. They were held mostly in Metro Manila, from February 22–25, 1986. The anti-government crowds in those days were just magnified by the mainstream media. Nowadays, social media shows the real sentiments of the people.
Retaliating to QC Mayor’s Indifference
The BBM-Sara uniteam supporters retaliated to the indifference of QC Mayor Joy Belmonte. She allegedly did not allow the group to assemble in her area of jurisdiction. Instead, she designated a basketball court for their gathering event. This apparently insulted the organizers. Thus bringing the assembly to Caloocan.
BBM is Loving and Forgiving
Despite the attacks of the Dilawans against BBM for more than 30 years, he remains loving and forgiving. He never encourage his supporters to fight back. Unity is his goal for the country’s progress together with his VP running mate, Inday Sara.
Malacanang assures that the law enforcers of the government maintain maximum tolerance during the rallies on the 46th anniversary of Martial Law. Atty. Harry Roque, the Presidential Spokesperson points out that the President respects the people’s right to express themselves. Nonetheless, the mainstream media fails to exaggerate the protests. Real people post through social media various images that show the decline of Edsa People Power. This happens as the brain of both martial law and Edsa mutiny, former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile reunites with Bongbong Marcos, the son of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr.

Martial Law Anniversary
On September 21, 1972, Martial Law was enacted through Proclamation 1081. It was then declared on the 23rd of September. Hence, to mark this 46th anniversary of President Marcos’ declaration of Martial Law, some groups and universities hold protests. This is according to earlier reports.
Resistance on the Alleged Dictatorship
Quoting The Alyansa ng Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon’s statement, “hundreds of peasants with indigenous people, fisherfolks, urban poor and other sectors—people of Central Luzon—continue their three-day protest march from provinces.” Furthermore, they are also set to join to join the United People’s Action against the speculations of Tyranny and Dictatorship under martial law.
Enrile’s Denies Martial Law Brutality
Enrile claims that the country was in better condition when martial law was declared in 1972 than the country’s situation now. He is one of Marcos’ strongest allies and served as defense secretary. He said that there’s nothing to fear under the provisions of the martial law in the 1986 constitution. Even Senator Risa Hontiveros’ stunts on the street in the rain seem crazy for many.
The Communist Party is Not the Organizer
The Communist Party of the Philippines also says that they are not the event’s organizers, but, they do support the opposition. Their statement says; “The CPP denounces the officials of the Philippine National Police for insisting on the announcement that such actions are the doings of the CPP, NPA, and the NDF. This is apparently to justify plans to clamp down the protests. However, it is obvious through the media interviews of the presumptive Vice President Leni Robredo that the Liberal Party is behind all the movements.
In the anticipation of the rallies, Joseph Estrada suspends classes in all levels both in public and private schools. The PNP is set to observe maximum tolerance for the rallies. Meanwhile, in anticipation of road closures because of the activities, the MMDA urges the motorists to take alternate routes.
As the Defense Secretary back then, it was Juan Ponce Enrile who planned the mutiny that grew into the People Power Revolution by mistake. Enrile was wary of the political factions in the palace when then President Ferdinand Marcos was ill. One cabal was led by the former Armed Forces Chief of Staff Fabian Ver and Imelda. The real enemies were unknown to him at the time but the demonization of Marcos through the media was so intense. However, Enrile always sought for the approval of the late Marcos in every step that he made. All these efforts were to help save the first family.

False Branding Claim
The People Power had been attributed to the Aquino Family ever since it happened. Almost as if it is their franchise, they use it to their political advantage. However, during the most dangerous and first night of the movement, Corazon Aquino was hiding in Cebu, in a convent. Furthermore, his son was too busy in other things as well and hadn’t participated. Nevertheless, with massive media stunts, they were tied with the movement.
Cory’s Blame Game via the Media
When Ninoy was killed, Corry blamed Marcos. She then launched a destabilization campaign. Marcos was then forced to call a snap election, wherein he was confident to win. Back in 1982, the county’s economy was stable but after the murder of Ninoy, things went south. Ultimately, Cory’s destabilization campaign worked.
Enrile was down on to deciding to make a last stand. They decided to hold it at the AFP headquarters. He made a call to the Vice Chief of Staff Lieut. Gen. Fidel V. Ramos. Their allegiance was assured, but it was not until late in the evening of Feb. 22 that Ramos was able to join them in Camp Aguinaldo.
Wrong People Power Beneficiary
Because of the People Power, the Aquinos were granted two presidencies. But what did the people gain in these two presidencies? They cannot even solve the assassination case of their own patriarch. That made one speculation even grow stronger. That a relative of the late Cory Aquino is responsible. It would be pathetic to kill their own to gain power.
Marcos did not Cheat
After Cory’s ascension to the presidency, Namfrel conducted a recount. In the recount, Marcos still won by 800,000 votes. Furthermore, in the official count sanctioned by the Comelec, Marcos was the official winner by a margin of 1.7 million votes. It is now clear that Cory Aquino was never elected by the people. The same doubts go to the son, Noynoy. He could have won because of the digital election system manipulation made possible by the conniving Comelec and Smartmatic. Currently, Bongbong Marcos’ electoral protest for the Vice Presidency is still ongoing. Atty. Glenn Chong’s technical evidence shows that the present VP, Leni Robredo may be illegitimate.
Dr. Rene Escalante, Chairman of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines finds himself explaining the true essence of the EDSA People Power Anniversary. Filipinos should express unity and set aside political colors and political affiliations, he said. This is after President Du30 speaks on the heroism of the late President Ferdinand Marcos. Anti Du30-Marcos protests mushroom in minimal fractions due to the fear that once Bongbong Marcos wins the recount on March 19 against Vice President Leni Robredo, Du30 resigns to give way to Marcos as President. This is in line with the prediction in the past.

Only a few thousand protesters made it to the scattered scenes.
The Yellows’ Nightmare
It is not surprising for people who know President Du30 why on the eve of the so-called EDSA People’s power Anniversary, the President hails the late President Ferdinand Marcos as a hero. Knowledgeable Filipinos can relate to this because the only reason why EDSA was peaceful is that, the former President had the heart of preventing a bloody defense by stepping down. Nonetheless, Du30 can be irked by unmindful protests. When that happens, Filipinos can wake up one day with Bongbong Marcos as the new President.
Copy Cat Campaign
The anti-administration rally organizers said that the nationwide protest seeks to raise awareness on several issues. They include press freedom, human rights, Charter Change, mass transport, extrajudicial killings, and martial law in Mindanao in their campaign. Collectively, the protesters show their concern over the assumed looming dictatorship of President Du30. This is the same scenario as to the event leading to the fall of President Marcos. The yellows seem to forget that they are destabilizing a very popular leader and well-loved real Vice President.
Warning or Prediction?
Since the evidence against Robredo is logical, the yellows seem to double their efforts but to no avail. The majority of Filipinos still support the current administration. Most Filipinos wish to see Bongbong Marcos leading the country. As it was written; hail the pearl of the orient now has a new leader. His name symbolizes the sound of a bell…bong, bong, bong.
Like Father, Like Sons
Joseph Simon, Ferdinand Alexander, and William Vincent all have the bearing and intellect of a Marcos. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, 23, recently finished his graduate studies at the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science. Sandro’s popularity roars this early as seen recently at the Caloocan University gathering. Apparently, the crowd expects to see the younger Marcos and not his father Bongbong.
