Rolly Rehabilitation Shows Mayor Sara-Senator Marcos’ Closeness

By: Elena Grace Flores

Mayor Sara and Senator Marcos visited typhoon Rolly’s disaster areas.

Rehabilitation Efforts by Mayor Sara and Senator Marcos

Typhoon Rolly’s rehabilitation efforts of Mayor Sara and Senator Imee Marcos are not anymore surprising. These two public servants often make public appearances since the 2016 election campaign. This should give a strong hint to the opposition as to who’s running for the executive office’s top positions in 2022. Inday Sara already rejects the idea of her running for the presidency. Despite topping the recent Pulse Asia survey. Then, she jokes about doing it for the VP post. So, with Senator Marcos as a constant companion, Bongbong Marcos is just around the corner.

The Duterte Popularity

The President’s approval rating remains at 91%. If the election is done today, the presidential daughter could replace him easily. Analysts say that popularity is not transferable. It’s the character that could make a candidate hot enough to win. From the start, Senator Marcos and Inday Sara are already buddies. This does not happen as a coincidence but a mere strategy for the alliance.

Bongbong Marcos is Definitely Running

The recent survey also shows that Bongbong Marcos is not far behind Mayor Sara. His persona displays an aura that is ready to be a leader at any time. Therefore, it’s more likely that the Duterte-Marcos tandem is in the loop. The namesake of Ferdinand Marcos can certainly make use of his life experience for the country’s rehabilitation.

Rep. Jericho “Koko” Nograles defends self on netizens’ accusations

Not the Cause of NAIA Rehabilitation Delay

Rep. Jericho “Koko” Nograles said that he is a member of the economics committee. It is his job to scrutinize the transactions made because the budget is from the taxpayers. He is not the cause of the NAIA rehabilitation delay. Nograles vows to watch over any corruption for the welfare of the people.

Megawide Construction Corporation

Nograles said that Megawide is subsidized by the government. Megawide said that they submitted a plan to the government with their profit which is a standard for business. There’s no subsidy from the government. A netizen also said that Megawide is the only qualified company to do the NAIA rehabilitation. They are successful at the Mactan International Airport in Cebu. Perhaps, the congressman is not just supportive of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Build Build Build project based on Marcos’ blueprint. Thus, making pro-administration people furious.

Louie Ferrer of Megawide said that if Nograles finds any corruption in the project, he should legally file a complaint. The 109 Billion rehabilitation is only slightly better than the one in Cebu. The improvements are necessary because the airport is in the capital. Their company follows the proposal when it comes to spending. So, Nograles is welcome to check it out.

Imee Marcos Discloses Marawi Rehabilitation Anomalies

By: Elena Grace Flores

Senator Imee Marcos observes that the housing developments for the Marawi rehabilitation are not in the ground zero where they should be. Marcos drew cheers and applause when she expresses her hope that they would all be home before the third anniversary of the siege on May 23 because “It’s time for every family to return to their homeland,” according to her.

The Rehabilitation of Marawi

WATCH: Senator Imee Marcos talks to local media in Iligan City about the abrogation of the Visiting Forces Agreement and how to speed up the rehabilitation of Marawi.

The Senator’s Questions

Marcos proceeds by questioning the use of rehab funds. Why do they have to return some funds? Why is the authorization coming from the Commission on Audit? Where are the accounts of foreign donations? Plus, the issue of land titles is the biggest one. Why do the people need to return to Ground Zero where there are no houses, no electricity, and no water?.

Mandate of the Commander-in-Chief

On the President’s visiting forces agreement remarks, Marcos stresses that the President is the architect of all military treaties because of he is the commander-in-chief. The harsh words are just mere threats. The US President might know this because he calmly welcomes the warning by saying that it will save him money. Marcos, however, agrees with the Filipino President to sometimes give voice out to his counterpart to be firm in the country’s independence. The Philippines is not a US colony anymore.
