Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. or popularly known as Bongbong meets with his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo during his inaugural state visit in Jakarta. This is his first time as president to have an official state visit to another country. The credit goes to the Indonesian President Joko Widodo who made the invitation.
President Widodo’s Warm Welcome
President Bongbong Marcos explains that he chooses Indonesia as his first international visit because both countries have almost the same culture. Not to mention the favorable geographical location. The warm welcome to talk about challenges in Asia signifies the right decision of the Filipino leader. Credit to the Indonesian leader who initiates the bilateral dealings this time.
Stability in Asia
Close in culture, ethnicity, and geography. Those are vital to the partnership as we try to emerge from the ill effects of the pandemic, said PBBM. Such an alliance can keep the stability of the relationship in the region. It feels like home for the Filipino president while staying in Jakarta.
